Finishers
At the finish line all runners who beat the 3 hour 30 minute cut-off will receive a keychain medal and technical shirt.

In other words, you have to earn your shirt — picking up your packet doesn’t cut it and it will not be available before or after race day!

Age-Groups
At the awards ceremony, age-groups will be awarded in 5-year increments to a max of 5 deep depending on the number of finishers in each group.

Awards are hand-made plaques with Pikes Peak amazonite going to 1st, Pikes Peak quartz going to 2nd and Pikes Peak granite going to 3rd-5th, if awarded.

All age-group winners will run away with a certificate for a pair of La Sportiva shoes including the hot new Fireblade which won the April 2007 Runner’s World best debut award!

Masters and Grand Masters
Top 3 male and female masters (40+) will win a silver spike and split a prize purse of $600 sponsored in part by Triad Engineering. The male and female masters winners win a trophy Pick Mattock.

Masters winners are eligible for age-group awards.

Grand masters (50+) will split a prize purse of $300. The male and female grand masters winners win a silver spike. Because there are far more male runners than female runners in the Grand Masters division (~70 vs ~15) we will not go as deep or offer the same awards for the females.

Grand masters winners are eligible for masters and age-group awards.

Overall
The top 3 male and female overall will split a prize purse of $1,500. The male and female overall winners win a trophy Pick Mattock.

Overall winners are eligible for grand masters, masters and age-group awards.

The M/F overall and masters winners win
a trophy mini Pick Mattock. These are like the ones used
to dig up the Amazonite for the age-group awards.
The top 3 M/F masters and the overall M/F grand masters win a silver spike.

Primes
Spread out randomly on the course are $400 in primes sponsored by the Colorado Running Company. In addition, a $200 “King/Queen of the Hill” prime will be awarded to the first male and female to reach Barr Camp. To win a prime the runner must finish the race under the cut-off. So sprinters can just stay home!

NOTICE: Primes, Overall, Masters and Grand Masters money must be picked up by the award winner at the awards ceremony or it will be forfeited unless it is a documented medical emergency. Age-group shoe certificates and plaques may be picked up by someone else at the awards ceremony. Shoe certificates not picked up at the awards ceremony will be forfeited. Age-group plaques not picked up at the awards ceremony will be recycled.

Awards Ceremony
Although the race is over, we invite you to stick around and celebrate your participation in the BTMR. The awards ceremony will be held at 11am at Soda Springs Park located at the intersection of Manitou and Ruxton Avenues.
