High School Aid Station Challenge
Congratulations to Woodland Park at No Name Creek who was the $2,250 Challenge winner this year. They had a Christmas theme and just edged out 2nd place who also had a Christmas theme by just 9 votes. The difference may have been that Woodland Park made “Gatorade Slushies” that were a big hit on a very hot day!
2nd place and $1,500 went to Palmer at Bobs Road
3rd place and $1,000 went to Liberty at the Incline
4th place and $750 went to Classical Academy at Barr Camp
5th place and $500 went to Manitou Springs at the Start/Finish

Fundraising
Breakdown of the money the 2006 Barr Trail Mountain Race raised and donated:
The six high schools: $6,000.00
Barr Camp: $2,476
El Paso County Search and Rescue: $2,362
Friends of the Peak: $1,982
Manitou Springs Mansions Park: $1,825
Trails and Open Space Coalition: $500
Total donations: $15,145.00 or $34.97 per registrant, $44.45 per finisher!

Great sponsors made this possible because the average entry fee was only $15.16 bringing in $6,564, all of which was donated, and yet there were many expenses with T-shirts alone costing $3,323 along with $2,800 in prize money and primes and $851 for finisher medals.
